If you are a IrLink beta user, before
you install new IrLink, you must set IrLink to RS-232 and never use IrLink
to Install IrLink through IR. It will stop at IrLink install because
HotSync has been redirected through IrLink, IrLink will be deleted
while running, Sync. process will then halted.
-
Anytime if you need to delete IrLink,
please make sure IrLink is set to RS-232 before the deletion. Or,
you can delete IrLink and perform soft reset to clean up the RS-232 redirection.
-
You need to install 3Com's IR Enhanced
Update if you are going to use IrDA 1.0 as your transfer protocol.
URL is http://www.palm.com/custsupp/downloads/irenhenc.html.
-
Please read readme.txt within 3Com's
IR Enhanced Update very carefully if you are user of the IBM IR HotSync
driver.
What's

problem when your IrLink setting is "HP SIR" and perform

-
Added a developer handle when a developer perform a dot-dot-2 shortcut.
The IR redirection will be temporary disable during
console mode.
About IrLink
1.01
IrLink is a general utility/tool
to re-direct RS-232 communication to IrDA communication without the needs
of code changes from the developer. It supports RS-232
re-direct to IrDA communication and RS-232 re-direct to HP Serial IR.
By using this tool, you can link your PalmIII and Nokia 8810, or
Erricson SH888 (or other model that compatible with DI27) without any cable,
dial-up to your ISP , retrieve email, browse the net without waiting for
the new PalmOS or new patch from vendors.
-
Smart detection of cradle HotSync Button. When HotSync
Button is pressed, IrLink will switch to RS-232 regardless what you have
set in IrLink.
-
IrLink has a built in IrDA Device Discovery function
for you to check and detect any device that is IrDA compliant. It
is the most easiest way to figure out whether you IR device is function
or not.
-
Fully tested 3Com's Kernel and IrDA patch. In 3Com's FAQ, this
patch can not do IR HotSync. With IrLink, you are able to do IR HotSync
without any problem..
-
New IrSync+ (need 1.1 or later) Support:. You can do one tap/button
IR HotSync by using IrSync+ 1.1. IrSync+ will detect the existence
and the setup information of IrLink. If IrLink is set to IrDA
or HP SIR, IrSync+ will pass it to IrLink. Otherwise, IrSync+ will
still perform its own HP SIR HotSync.
-
Provide simple link test by sending lines of output to the target device.
-
Provide IrDA device discovery function to check compatibility between your
target device and PalmIII.
-
Supports both 2MB upgrade and PalmIII.
-
With AltCtrlHack (IS/Complete), you can simulate HotBotton to do IRSync.
